Dr. Jeetendra Adhia was born in 1951 in the town of Wankaner, in the Rajkot District in Gujarat, India. His father, Haridasbai, and mother, Shantaben, were uneducated. His father was a vegetable vendor in Wankaner. Later, he joined the L.I.C. of India as an agent in Rajkot. He was subsequently promoted to a Development Officer until his retirement in 1975.
Dr. Adhia attended the Government School in Wankaner in the Gujarati medium. He did his Pre-University Science and first year BSc at the Kotak Science College in Rajkot. He was admitted to the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Sewgram, Wardha, in Maharashtra, in 1969. In 1975, he received his MBBS from Nagpur University. He relocated to Mumbai to pursue his post-graduate studies, and qualified as a Medical Doctor in Preventive ad Social Medicine (MD PSM) from Mumbai University.
Dr. Adhia worked in Nanavati and Kasturba Hospital for ten years. In June 1985, he departed for a better-paying post in Saudi Arabia, where he worked as an Infectious Diseases Specialist for six years. He returned to India in 1991, where he joined the NHL Municipal Medical College as a Lecturer. He resigned from the College in 2005, while he was Associate Professor. Since then, he has been in the field of 'Mind Power'. Dr.Adhia has been fortunate to have held four different roles in his career as aMedical Doctor, namely: Clinician, Hospital Manager, Health Programme Manager,and Medical College Professor.
Dr. Adhia first developed an interest in the subject of 'Mind Power' in 1991, when he read Dr. Joseph Murphy's book: Power of Your Subconscious Mind'. He decided to study this subject more intensively, and has since made a career of it. He has several books on topics related to the 'mind'; one of his books: 'Spring of Inspiration' is an all-time best seller. He has also produced many: audio CDs, DVDs, audio books, charts, and posters on the same topics.
Dr. Adhia has conducted seminars and workshops across India and abroad. Some of the Indian locations he has presented in include, amongst others: Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Alwar, Anand, Aurangabad, Azamgarh, Bardoli, Belpahar, Bengaluru, Bharuch, Bhavnagar, Bhuj, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Dissa, Faizabad, Gandhidahm, Gandhinagar, Gangtok, Gurgaon, Gwalior, Himmat Nagar, Hyderabad, Indore, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Jorhat, Junagadh, Kadi, Kalol, Kolhapur, Kolkata, Latoor, Lonavala, Lucknow, Mehsana, Mumbai, Nadiad, Nagpur, Navsari, Noida, Palanpur, Patan, Porbander, Pune, Raipur, Rajkot, Siddhpur, Surat, Surendranagar, Unja, Ushmanabad, Vadodara, Valsad, Vapi, Varanasi, Vellore, and Veraval.

Dr. Adhia's hobbies are: making good friends, reading, writing, photography, and travelling - all of which have added value to and benefitted from his work. He has travelled across most parts of India, and has visited: Bangladesh, Belgium, Botswana, Canada, China, Dubai, England, France, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand, Uganda, and the United States.
Dr. Adhia's son, Nimish, obtained his PhD in Economic from the United States, and is presently working there as a Professor in Economics. His daughter, Neha, lives with him in Ahmedabad, and is completing her studies in Psychotherapy.
Dr. Adhia started the Mind Training Institute in Ahmedabad to create a platform for and provide an opportunity to other trainers to offer affordable training in various subjects from a common location. He launched the 'Train-the-Trainer' Programme to equip youth to become mind trainers. More recently, he has decided to divert his time and energy from April 2011 to develop his dream project: 'A Mind University' in Ahmedabad.
